Bid for jobs by dialling *922# from any handset, or call 9252 and be helped in your own language. You do not need a data plan to earn.

Paid where you already bank

Payouts go to telebirr, M-Pesa or a bank account. The fare is in escrow before you start, so you are not chasing a passenger for money at the end of a job.

Your record belongs to you

Completed jobs, ratings and reliability build a history on your account. A new driver looks like a new driver; a driver with two hundred clean deliveries looks like one.

Commission stated up front

Either 0% or 12% depending on the subscription you hold, and the rate is shown on the job before you accept it. Nothing is deducted afterwards that you were not told about.

Bring the drivers you trust

Tiered invitations let you bring other drivers onto the platform under your own network, which matters if you run a small fleet rather than a single vehicle.

  1. 1A valid driving licence for the vehicle class you will operate, issued in the country you drive in
  2. 2A Fayda national ID for identity verification
  3. 3The vehicle’s bollo certificate, plus clear photographs of the front and rear registration plates
  4. 4A phone number that can receive a WhatsApp message — this is how we send your verification code
  5. 5A telebirr, M-Pesa or bank account to receive payouts

Questions from drivers

Do I need to own the vehicle?

No. Owners and drivers are separate roles on Walya. An owner can register a vehicle and assign drivers to it, and each person keeps their own account and their own record.

Why do you check the plate against the bollo certificate?

Because a typed registration number proves nothing. Comparing photographs of the actual plates against the certificate is what makes "verified vehicle" mean something to the passenger or the cargo owner trusting it.

How quickly am I paid?

The money is already in escrow when the job starts. It is released to your wallet on confirmed completion — scanned at the handover — and paid out to your chosen channel from there.

What if a customer refuses to confirm completion?

It goes to Walya’s dispute process with the trip record, the route and the timestamps attached. A customer cannot simply decline to release money for work that the record shows was done.

Can I sign up right now?
