Draft — pending legal review
This document describes how Walya Fleet actually operates today, but it has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel and is not final. If anything here matters to a decision you are making, contact us and we will confirm it in writing. Last updated 16 September 2026.
What Walya is
Walya Fleet operates a platform that connects people who need transport, delivery or logistics services with the providers who carry them out. Except where we state otherwise, Walya is not itself the carrier: the service is performed by the driver, owner or operator you are matched with.
Your account
You must give accurate information when you register, and keep it up to date. Verification documents must be your own, or belong to a vehicle or business you are authorised to act for.
You are responsible for what happens on your account. Do not share your access with anyone else; if you believe someone else has it, tell us immediately.
Public registration is currently closed while the platform completes a security review. Accounts are opened by invitation during this period.
Bookings and offers
When you post a job, providers may bid for it. A bid is an offer; the agreement forms when you accept one.
The price, the vehicle and the applicable Walya commission are shown before you accept. We do not add a fee after acceptance that was not visible at the time.
Payment, escrow and commission
Payment for an accepted job is held in escrow. It is neither yours nor the provider’s while the job is in progress.
Escrow is released when completion is confirmed by a scan at the handover. If the job does not take place, the funds return to the payer.
Walya’s commission is either 0% or 12% depending on the subscription the provider holds. The rate applicable to a job is shown before the job is accepted.
Conduct
Do not use the platform to move anything you are not legally entitled to move, to impersonate another person, or to take payment outside the platform for a job arranged on it.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things, and where money is involved we may hold funds pending investigation rather than release them.
Disputes
If something goes wrong with a job, raise it through the platform. Disputes are decided on the recorded facts — the booking, the route, the timestamps and the confirmation scan — rather than on whichever party argues most persistently.
Nothing here removes any right you have under Ethiopian law.
Liability
We are responsible for operating the platform with reasonable care. We are not responsible for the acts of a provider or a customer beyond that, except where the law says otherwise.
We do not promise that the platform will be available without interruption. Where a failure of ours prevents a job from completing, funds in escrow return to the payer.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update this page and say when. Continuing to use the platform after a change means accepting the updated terms; material changes are notified to account holders directly.
