Event Ticketing
Sell seats to a match, a concert or a conference, and check people in at the door. The gate keeps working when the network does not, which is the part that decides whether a queue moves.
Who this is for
- Event organisers and promoters
- Stadiums, halls and conference venues
- Employers and groups booking seats together
- Anyone holding a ticket
How it works
- 1
Publish the event and its seating
Set the venue, the price tiers and the gates. Each tier has its own allocation, so a cheaper tier selling out does not quietly sell the expensive one.
- 2
A queue, when demand needs one
For a sale that will not clear calmly, buyers enter a waiting room and are admitted in batches. That is fairer than a first-click race, and it keeps the platform standing during the minute everyone arrives at once.
- 3
The ticket is a signed QR code
Issued to the ticket-holder’s phone number, which does not have to be the account that paid — so you can buy for family or staff. A ticket can be transferred to someone else, and the transfer is recorded.
- 4
The gate scans, online or offline
Scanners download a verification bundle before the doors open and can admit people with no connectivity at all, syncing the scans afterwards. The bundle carries only the public verification key, never the signing key, so a lost scanner cannot mint tickets.
- 5
The organiser is paid after the event
Takings are held and released once the event has finished and the window for disputes has passed, rather than at the moment of sale.
What you need
- For organisers: a verified account and a venue with its gates defined
- For buyers: a phone number that can receive the ticket
- Payment from a Walya wallet, telebirr, M-Pesa or bank transfer
Questions about this service
Can the same ticket be used twice?
No. Each scan is recorded against the ticket, and a second presentation is refused at the gate. Scans taken offline are reconciled when the scanner reconnects, so a duplicate presented at a different gate during an outage is still caught — afterwards rather than at the door.
What happens if the event is cancelled?
The organiser has not been paid yet, because takings are only released after the event. Refunds are handled from the held funds rather than recovered from someone who has already spent them.
Can I buy tickets for other people?
Yes. Each ticket is issued to the holder’s own phone number, and there is a group booking route for employers and organisations buying a block at once.
Does the gate need internet?
Not during the event. Scanners verify signatures locally against a bundle downloaded beforehand, which is why this works in a stadium where the network fails the moment it fills up.
